My favorite subject this semester

This semester has been very difficult for me, and in general I didn’t like the subjects of this second period of this year. But I can do an exception, because I have been really enjoying the subject of GIS Applications 1. I like this subject because evaluations are class by class work, and on a stipulated date, all the work you have done for a month or two months is delivered, so it’s a very practical subject, we only work on our computers in class using a program called ArcGIS Pro. About the contents, we only learn about something that appears in the ArcGIS Pro program, because it’s a difficult program, which sometimes even requires programming. So, the teachers teach us according to the stage of the project we are in. For example, we have seen some contents like how to make a “Model Builder”, interpolate precipitation, learn how to do the “ normalized difference vegetation index”, and many other things. Starry Night

Choosing my favorite photo was very difficult, I think I forgot too many photos, because I have many, but I think this is the best. This photograph was taken by me, in the winter holidays of this year, exactly in August, in the location of Ancapulli, La Araucanía Region. I think this is the most beautiful photo that I have ever taken in my life, because it shows how beautiful the sky was that night, I had never seen the starry sky so clear, and I had never seen so many shooting stars, that was a very special moment. Also, this photo brings back very good memories because I was traveling with my boyfriend. Maybe you are thinking: wow, how did she take that photograph? Change is good

Sometimes I’m grateful of studying Geography, I think is more relaxed than the career of Design or Architecture, but also, I think that it’s so difficult sometimes do other things outside of university, we always have to be doing something like works, homework, etc. In the same line, I think the subjects in this career are very entertaining and useful for our futures, but sometimes you never have time, so I don’t like that, and so I would change the time you have to dedicate to each subject. In general terms, the faculty infrastructure is so poor, we don’t have minimal things like nurse’s office, spaces to eat, hiding from the rain, some comfortable spaces to rest, etc. So, in my opinion, this faculty is very bad according to the facilities that they offer you. Also, in Geography, we need a lot of field visits, but we don’t have enough, and there aren’t resources for that. Summer holidays

 There is very little time left for the summer holidays, and honestly, I don't know what I'm going to do during the 2 months of vacations. According to possible trips, I’ve seen some ideas such as going to the south of Chile, such as going to the commune of Cochamó, Futrono or Chiloé, because I really like the south, and I’ve seen spectacular images of those places. On the other hand, I would like to visit San Pedro de Atacama, because I’ve never been to the north of Chile, besides, we all know how famous that place is, and I would like to do something different. This summer, I’m going to be with my family of course, my boyfriend and I hope that I can be with my friends that I haven’t seen since a long time. About the activities that I would like to be a part of, well, I think in San Antonio, there aren’t many activities that you can be part of, because it’s a boring city, but, if there were an opportunity, I would like to join groups related to exploration and recognition ...

The best concert of my life

Ok this is a free post, so I don’t know what to write, there are too many topics that I can talk/write about, so… thinking that my next concert will be in November, let’s write about the best concert I’ve ever have. Well, about the concerts I’ve attended in my life, I’ve gone to see High School Musical (lol), Los Jaivas and Sting at the Viña del Mar Festival, and I’ve been to 3 Lollapalooza (2017, 2018, 2019). My favorite concert I’ve ever had, was Lollapalooza 2019 in O’Higgins Park, Santiago. And maybe you’re thinking why? (Or maybe not), well, it’s because I saw my favorite band on stage: Arctic Monkeys. Arctic Monkeys is my favorite band since 2014, they are an English Indie Rock band, and their music accompanied me in my adolescence, so it was a very exciting experience. Also, the atmosphere there was so special, there were cool people waiting for the band, I made some friends there. Difficults decisions of my future studies

  Well, writing or thinking about my postgraduate studies’ that I consider taking in the future, is a little bit difficult for me, because I haven't investigated for the multiple possibilities, or I just haven't thought about it, so today’s post will help me. 😊 Now, thinking about the subjects that I like, I would like to study something related to climate change, natural resources, meteorology, or something related to Geographic Information Systems and remote sensing. I know there are too many ideas, but at least they relate to physical geography. I would like to study something like the subjects that I’ve mentioned, because I love nature, and I really like to learn about the different dynamics that happen in the space in which we live, and of course, make cartographies using the Geographic Information System. My future job

If I think about a job I would like to have in the future, it would be related to nature, the environment, or the use of Geographic Information System. So, I imagine it doing it in some company or being a self-employed in the south of Chile. Well, I think it’s obviously that I would like to work outdoors, I wouldn’t want to work in the same place always. I think it’s very entertaining to do field visits, collect information and learn new things. I would really like to travel in my future job, I love the nature and knowing new places, and sometimes, I think it’s for this reason that I choose Geography to study, because you must move it a lot. Well, about the salary… Nothing it’s perfect I think, I hope that my future job allows me to complain my projects, live well and of course travel. I think this career isn’t recognized, so it’s badly paid, but it isn’t an obstacle for me.
