My future job

If I think about a job I would like to have in the future, it would be related to nature, the environment, or the use of Geographic Information System. So, I imagine it doing it in some company or being a self-employed in the south of Chile.

Well, I think it’s obviously that I would like to work outdoors, I wouldn’t want to work in the same place always. I think it’s very entertaining to do field visits, collect information and learn new things.

I would really like to travel in my future job, I love the nature and knowing new places, and sometimes, I think it’s for this reason that I choose Geography to study, because you must move it a lot.

Well, about the salary… Nothing it’s perfect I think, I hope that my future job allows me to complain my projects, live well and of course travel. I think this career isn’t recognized, so it’s badly paid, but it isn’t an obstacle for me.

When I finish this career, I would like to choose a major related to geomorphology, remote sensing, hydrology, or GIS, I know that it’s so many possibilities, but I still have time to decide. I like these options because they relate to the nature, and they can give me a chance to travel more, do field visits, etc.

Summer holidays

 There is very little time left for the summer holidays, and honestly, I don't know what I'm going to do during the 2 months of vacations. According to possible trips, I’ve seen some ideas such as going to the south of Chile, such as going to the commune of Cochamó, Futrono or Chiloé, because I really like the south, and I’ve seen spectacular images of those places. Change is good

Sometimes I’m grateful of studying Geography, I think is more relaxed than the career of Design or Architecture, but also, I think that it’s so difficult sometimes do other things outside of university, we always have to be doing something like works, homework, etc. In the same line, I think the subjects in this career are very entertaining and useful for our futures, but sometimes you never have time, so I don’t like that, and so I would change the time you have to dedicate to each subject. In general terms, the faculty infrastructure is so poor, we don’t have minimal things like nurse’s office, spaces to eat, hiding from the rain, some comfortable spaces to rest, etc. So, in my opinion, this faculty is very bad according to the facilities that they offer you. Also, in Geography, we need a lot of field visits, but we don’t have enough, and there aren’t resources for that. Starry Night

Choosing my favorite photo was very difficult, I think I forgot too many photos, because I have many, but I think this is the best. This photograph was taken by me, in the winter holidays of this year, exactly in August, in the location of Ancapulli, La Araucanía Region. I think this is the most beautiful photo that I have ever taken in my life, because it shows how beautiful the sky was that night, I had never seen the starry sky so clear, and I had never seen so many shooting stars, that was a very special moment.
